Publication Review & Certification

PUBLICATION REVIEW & CERTIFICATION

OMPALAN maintains a structured review process for information and materials submitted for publication on its platform. The purpose is to promote relevance, credibility, accuracy, responsible communication and institutional integrity.

Submission Does Not Mean Publication

Submission of information or material to OMPALAN does not constitute publication, approval, certification or endorsement. Every submission must pass through the OMPALAN review process before it can be published.

OMPALAN PRE-PUBLICATION VETTING

OMPALAN may use ChatGPT as an AI-assisted preliminary vetting and editorial support tool. The AI review is intended to help identify factual claims requiring verification, missing evidence, inconsistencies, attribution issues, privacy concerns, potentially defamatory allegations, and other matters requiring human attention.

The AI-assisted review does not constitute final verification, legal certification or publication approval. Final responsibility for publication remains with an authorized OMPALAN administrator or designated editorial authority.

Vetting Sequence

SUBMIT → SCREEN → AI-ASSISTED VETTING → HUMAN REVIEW → VERIFY → FINAL DECISION → PUBLISH

What the AI-Assisted Vetting Will Examine

  • Source and attribution — who supplied the material and whether its origin is identifiable.
  • Factual claims — claims that can be checked against reliable sources or supporting records.
  • Evidence — documents, photographs, videos, official communications, references and links supplied with the submission.
  • Internal consistency — dates, names, places, figures and statements that appear inconsistent or require clarification.
  • Accuracy and fairness — whether the material distinguishes facts from opinions, allegations, commentary and interpretation.
  • Privacy and dignity — unnecessary disclosure of personal information or material concerning identifiable persons.
  • Publication risk — issues that may require additional verification, editorial review or legal advice.
  • Editorial suitability — whether the material is appropriate for publication on the OMPALAN platform.

Where outside verification is required, the vetting process should identify the sources or evidence needed. A statement should not be treated as independently verified merely because it has been submitted or reviewed by an AI system.

Standard Vetting Report

For material requiring substantive review, the preliminary report may record:

  • Submission identification
  • Summary of the material
  • Principal factual claims
  • Evidence supplied
  • Claims requiring verification
  • Questions or clarification required
  • Editorial and attribution observations
  • Privacy, defamation or other risk flags
  • Recommended editorial action

Review Decision

Following AI-assisted screening and human review, a submission may receive one of four OMPALAN outcomes:

  1. APPROVE FOR PUBLICATION
  2. REQUEST CLARIFICATION / EVIDENCE
  3. HOLD FOR FURTHER REVIEW
  4. DECLINE PUBLICATION

These are OMPALAN editorial decisions. AI-assisted vetting does not itself select the final outcome.

Human Verification Remains Essential

AI-assisted vetting can identify issues and assist with research and editorial review, but it should not be treated as a substitute for primary documents, eyewitness verification, official records, professional legal advice or other appropriate human verification.

Where a submission contains serious allegations, disputed facts, sensitive personal information, legal claims or matters capable of causing significant harm, OMPALAN may require additional human verification before publication.

Multimedia Materials

Photographs, videos, audio recordings, reports and other materials may be submitted through the Members’ Information Centre. Multimedia materials are subject to the same review principles before publication. Where necessary, OMPALAN may request the original file, source, date, location or other supporting information.

Responsibility of Contributors

Contributors remain responsible for the accuracy, legality, authenticity and proper attribution of materials they submit. Contributors should distinguish clearly between verified facts, personal opinions, commentary and allegations and should provide supporting evidence where appropriate.

Corrections and Clarifications

If published information is subsequently found to contain a material error, OMPALAN may review the matter and, where appropriate, correct, update, clarify or remove the material.

Publication

Only material approved through the OMPALAN review process will be published on the platform. Publication does not, by itself, constitute an endorsement or independent verification of the material unless OMPALAN expressly states otherwise.

Submit Information for Review

Submit information, reports, photographs, videos or other relevant materials through the Members’ Information Centre.

Important: Submission does not constitute publication or approval. All submissions remain subject to OMPALAN review and final authorization.
